In the fall of 2005, a stunt coordinator I had worked with in the past asked me to double an actor for a new pilot.
I was told that it was a highly anticipated show and was excited to get the call.
After shooting the pilot, I didn’t hear anything about the show until a year later when I ran into my friend, James Kyson Lee. [He plays Ando, the best friend of the character I doubled.] He told me the show got picked up and was schedule to start shooting in the summer.
A couple months later I received a call from the stunt coordinator, Ian Quinn, and the rest is history. I was back on the show as the stunt double for Masi Oka, who plays Hiro Nakamura.
Little did I know that HEROES would turn into one of America’s top TV shows. It was the number one show on primetime television.
For Season One, I had the honor of sharing a SAG Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a TV Series.
I had the privilege of working on the show for 2 years. Had I still lived permanently in Los Angeles I’m sure I would’ve done more. The lastepisode I worked was for season 3. A friend of mine and great stuntman, Will Leong took over doubling Masi for most of the remaining episodes.
I’m very grateful to have been part of this show as Masi’s stunt double. I worked with some great people, made some new friends and learned a lot about the business.
